Model training

OpenAI API data is not used to train OpenAI models unless the account owner explicitly opts in. Conversations, files, and search indexes persist at the provider until FileAI deletes them.

What FileAI stores

FileAI stores private document objects, chats, citations, and usage records while your account is active. Documents live in private, encrypted object storage — never in a public folder.

What deletion does

Deleting a document removes its stored object, the provider file, its search-index attachment, chat selections, and citations. Deleting a chat removes its provider conversation and local messages. Deleting your account queues all of those operations, plus removal of your search index.

Deletion evidence

Completed deletion records contain identifiers but no document or conversation content, and are retained for 90 days as evidence that deletion happened. Failed deletions remain visible to our operators until cleanup is confirmed.

Backups expire under our backup retention policy, and deleted data is never restored into the active service.

Logs and metrics

Operational logs and metrics exclude document and conversation content.
