Turn lecture slides into a study guide

Upload your PowerPoint or PDF slides. Get a study guide, practice questions or a presentation script. Every line links to the slide it came from, so you can check it. Type your request in your own language.

Free plan: 10 documents and about 40 questions a month. No card needed.

Slides are short. Studying from them is hard.

Lecture slides are only notes. Your teacher explains the rest out loud. When you study alone, it is hard to know what matters.

Upload your slides. FileAI reads every slide and writes what you ask for. Each line has a number. Click the number to see the slide it came from. Check it first, then learn it.

Four things you can make from your slides

Pick one, or ask your own question. Every result links back to your slides.

  • Study guide

The key ideas from your slides as short points. Read it before a test.

  • Practice questions

Questions with short answers, taken from your slides. Cover the answer and test yourself.

  • Presentation script

Words to say for each slide, ready to read aloud. Change them so they sound like you.

  • Summary

A short summary of the whole deck. Good for a quick look before class.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your slides

Add a PowerPoint (PPTX) or a PDF with selectable text. You can add the reading for the same class too.

  2. 2

    Choose what you need

Study guide, Practice questions, Presentation script or Summary. Or type your own request, in your language.

  3. 3

    Check it against your slides

Each line has a number. Click it to open the slide. PDF slides show the sentence highlighted.

Things you can ask

Type them the way you would say them. A few examples:

  • Make a study guide for lecture 1.
  • Write 10 practice questions with short answers.
  • Write a presentation script for each slide.
  • Explain slide 7 in simple words.
  • What are the 5 most important terms? Explain each one.
  • Make a short reviewer for my exam.
  • Answer the questions at the end of this file.
  • Which slides talk about deadlines or dates?

Made so you can check it

AI can make mistakes. So every line links to the slide it came from. Look before you learn.

Every line links to a slide

Click a number to see the slide. In PDF slides, the sentence is highlighted on the page.

Ask in your language

Type your request in the language you know best and the answer comes back in it. The buttons write in the language of your slides (or in simple English). The quoted slide text stays as it is on your slide.

Plain words

Ask for simple words or short sentences. Ask again if a line is hard to follow.

Honest when it isn't there

If your slides do not cover something, FileAI says so. It does not make up a slide.

Private

Your files are stored privately and never used to train AI. Delete a file and its copies go too.

The files you already have

PowerPoint, PDF with selectable text, Word, text and more. Scanned PDFs aren't supported yet.

Frequently asked questions

More in the FAQ, or read where your files go.

How do I turn lecture slides into a study guide?
Create a free account and upload your slides as PPTX or PDF. Choose Study guide. You get the key ideas as short points, and each point links to the slide it came from.
Can I make a study guide from a PowerPoint?
Yes. Upload the PPTX file. FileAI reads the text on every slide. Answers point to "slide N", so you can find the slide fast.
Can FileAI write a presentation script from my slides?
Yes. Choose Presentation script. You get words to say for each slide. Read it, change it, and practise it out loud so it sounds like you.
Does it work in my language?
Yes, when you type your request. Write it in the language you know best and the answer comes back in it, even if your slides are in another language. The one-click buttons write in the language of your slides, or in simple English if you switch that on. The quoted text always stays in the language of the slide, so you can check it.
Are the practice questions and answers correct?
They use only what is in your slides, and each answer links to its slide. AI can still make mistakes, so check anything important against the slide.
Is it OK to use for school?
FileAI helps you study and understand your own material. Check your school's rules about AI before you hand in anything it wrote. A presentation script is a draft to learn from and make your own.
How much does it cost?
You can start free with 10 documents and about 40 questions a month, no card needed. Pro is US$19 a month for more files and questions. Prices in US dollars (USD). There is a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Are my slides private?
Yes. Your files are stored privately and are never used to train AI. To answer your questions, text is sent to OpenAI's API, and OpenAI doesn't train on API data. Deleting a file deletes those copies too.

Make a study guide from your own slides
